New to yoga?

Yoga is a wonderful activity to practice. It helps to bring about better alignment of your bones and muscles, helps all of the bodily systems to function better, and helps one's powers of concentration and relaxation. The classes are led by excellent fully qualified teachers all of whom love sharing their knowledge of yoga.

We run two types of classes, Ashtanga Yoga and Hatha Yoga (similiar to Iyengar). Ashtanga is a more dynamic practice, involving more movements and sequences. The postures used in Hatha Yoga are the same but are held for longer.

General Hatha Yoga Classes beginning in July!
The Hatha style, in lovely contrast to Ashtanga, is quiet and full of stillness. We are fortunate to have
Lisa Durant on board, trained in the Iyengar method, teaching classes on Thursdays and Fridays.
About Lisa's Hatha classes:
These classes are suitable for beginners and those with some yoga experience. We will practice a combination of asanas and flowing sequences while integrating the breathing techniques. The aim of this class is to develop flexibility, stamina, strength and promote relaxation. Focus will be placed on correct alignment of the body in each asana to bring balance, strength and a sense of calm to the practice.
The last class of each month will be a restorative class where we will look to achieve deep relaxation through asanas (physical postures), pranayama (breath control techniques), yoga nidra (yogic sleep) and meditation.

Come to the classes to find out what suits you!
